Subsea 7 has expanded its polymer pipeline technology interests with the acquisition of specialist Swagelining.
The two companies have worked together on various projects, mainly in the North Sea.
They have designed and installed more than 150km of reeled and bundled polyethylene-lined water-injection flowlines.
Thomas Sunde, Subsea 7’s vice president of technology, said: “The acquisition of Swagelining will enable Subsea 7 to enhance its flowline and riser technology portfolios and supports Subsea 7’s commitment to develop and apply technologies that reduce cost, enhance production and extend field life.”
