UK newcomer Samos Energy has entered the offshore storage and production sector with a deal to buy the fleet of PetroFirst.
The London company is acquiring 100% of the shares in the joint venture between UK oil and gas services company Petrofac and US fund BlackRock.
The deal involves three offshore production vessels under charter in Asia: the 100,000-dwt floating production, storage and offloading unit FPF 003 (ex-Jasmine Venture MV7, built 1976); the 188,000-dwt FPSO Lewek Emas (built 1978); and the mobile oil production unit West Desaru (built 1976).
