Oslo-listed SD Standard Drilling has achieved a very firm price for a platform supply vessel (PSV) in recovering markets as it seeks to shift into renewables.
The Cyprus-based company, controlled by tycoon Oystein Stray Spetalen, said the 5,200-dwt Standard Princess (built 2008) is being offloaded for $10.3m.
VesselsValue assesses the unit as worth only $6m.
The deal illustrates the continuing improvement in the offshore support vessel sector as demand returns and older vessels are phased out.
