Songa Offshore has offloaded one of its ageing drillships which was recently thought to have lined up a new contract.
PetroSaudi Oil Services has fronted up $260m for the 10,155-gt unit Songa Saturn (built 1983), a statement from Songa to the Oslo Stock Exchange read on Monday.
The Saudi outfit has already slapped down a “customary” deposit, the value of which was not revealed, and has even paid for the unit’s recent class renewal.
