That could very well have been the case, a judge in Singapore has ruled.
A judgment issued by Singapore High Court judge Justice Lai Siu Chiu — when dismissing Milaha’s appeal to have the Mareva injunction Pengrui took out against a Milaha-linked Singapore-registered vessel-owning special purpose vehicle (SPV) overturned — has brought to light details of a costly legal dispute stemming from the failed sales deal involving the 7,900-gt offshore construction vessel Milaha Explorer (built 2016).
