A semi-submersible drilling rig ordered in 2013 is en route to its first contract after having been subject to delays, disputes and a resale.
The unit, named Deepsea Nordkapp, has been delivered to Norway’s Odfjell Drilling from Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI), South Korea.
Stena originally ordered the rig in 2013 for $727m but cancelled the deal in 2017, claiming SHI was unable to complete and deliver the unit by March 2016, as per the contract.
