Dubai shipowner P&O Maritime Logistics has shifted further into the growing renewables sector with two new contracts.
The DP World-owned company's 2,300-dwt multi-carrying vessel (MCV) Topaz Amur (built 2017) has secured back-to-back charters following the completion of a long-term deal with Tengizchevroil (TCO) in the Caspian Sea.
P&O Maritime called the contracts "ground-breaking".
The ro-ro deck carrier has spent three years delivering "super-out-of-gauge project cargo" from the Baltic and Black seas to the Caspian, navigating the complex and shallow Russian inland waterways.
