Utilization levels may be creeping upwards for the Middle East’s offshore fleet, but it will take a long time before it starts pushing day rates upwards, says Fazel Fazelbhoy.
Synergy Offshore chief executive Fazelbhoy estimated that there are currently 450 offshore service vessels (OSV) of various types in the Middle East, of which approximately 100 are owned by Southeast Asian companies.
