A US appeals court has reopened claims by an Edison Chouest Offshore (ECO) master against Chevron over his ordeal at the hands of pirates.
The decision by the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans reverses part of a July 2015 judgment that dismissed Wren Thomas’s claims over his kidnapping from the 3,290-dwt platform supply vessel C-Retriever (built 1999), which the US oil major had on charter from ECO.
