The Maersk Group has been hit with another drilling contract cancellation as the offshore market continues to reel from a tough market
Dong Energy sent the Danish shipping giant’s Maersk Drilling subsidiary a letter of early termination for the jackup Maersk Resolve (built 2009), which was scheduled to be on contract until January 2017.
But Maersk says the rig completed its work at the Hejre field in the North Sea, and its compensation for the contract termination means there will be a neutral impact on company finances.
