Reports that an Augusta Offshore anchor handler detained by armed guards while berthed at Tripoli is free have proved to be wide of the mark.
The 180-tbp Asso Ventidue (built 1999) sailed from the Libyan capital but it turned out to be only a brief sea excursion and the vessel returned to Tripoli earlier today.
Augusta Offshore said the 11 crew members appeared well and had been allowed to contact their families but the vessel was still under the control of the Libyan military.
