The Singaporean giant will pocket $280m to build thesemi-submersible unit for delivery towards the end of 2015.

Its rigbuilding division Keppel FELS delivered two semis in2010 and is currently constructing two more.

The unit can accommodate up to 500 persons and is customisedfor operations in deep water and harsh weather environments.

Keppel Corp owns a near 50% stake in Floatel.
