Kawasaki Heavy Industries (KHI) has cancelled an order for a top hole drilling light well intervention vessel ordered by Norway’s Island Offshore Shipholding.
The deal was struck in 2013 with Island Offshore subsidiary Island Navigation as KHI bid to break into the offshore vessel construction market.
However, the Japanese builder said the project was impacted by cost problems on it struggled to build the vessel.
