The shipowner and compatriot tradinghouses Mitsui & Co and Marubeni have joined with engineering firm Modec whichhas a charter contract to supply an FPSO to Tullow Oil from 2016.
Modec is currently converting the former Tanker Pacific VLCC CentennialJewel (built 2001) for the project.
The four companies have set up a Netherlands-basedconsortium to own the unit which will be deployed on the so-called TEN fields inGhana.
