India’s Jaisu Shipping has won a dredging contract from Kandla Port Trust (KPT) after coming in with the lowest bid.
Indian media reported the company’s offer at INR 1.91bn ($44.51m), which was sufficient to beat state-run Dredging Corp of India (DCI) to the two-year channel-dredging deal.
DCI bid INR 2.15bn and even though this was later reduced by 7%, it still proved too high.
