The Gard marine insurance group has won another round in a complex legal battle over $365m of windstorm damage caused to offshore installations in the Gulf of Mexico in 2005.
London high court judge, Justice David Steel, has ruled in favour of Gard in a battle with Advent’s Lloyds of London syndicate 780 and its then underwriter Lloyd Tunnicliffe over the wording in a reinsurance contract.
