Belgian shipowner Exmar is downsizing the scale of the LNG projects it is usually involved in with a joint venture with Pacific Rubiales to export gas from Colombia.
The project will involve a small liquefaction barge and pipeline rather than Exmar’s usual 130,000 to 150,000-cbm LNG carriers.
The deal with Canada based Pacific Rubiales is designed to ship LNG from the La Creciente gas field in Northern Colombia to the Caribbean coast for export to regional markets.
