Dof Group is partnering with Kongsberg Maritime and research firms SINTEF Ocean and NORCE to use 'big data' to make its operations greener and more efficient.
The partners plan to develop a "sophisticated" new decision support system (DSS) for operating Dof's offshore support vessels (OSVs), using 'internet of things' technologies.
Dof said the system will help it to reduce its fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions and will simplify the company's operational complexity.
