The UK-based firm has teamed up with Odebrecht Oil & Gasto provide Brazil’s Petrobras with subsea construction services using the pipelayerPolar Onyx.

Ceona will operate the vessel in deep and ultra-deep watersoffshore Brazil over a 12 month period from May, it announced today.

GC Rieber ordered the ship from Ulstein Verft in June 2012at a cost of about NOK 800m ($140m).

Ceona will keep the vessel for an initial five years withoptions potentially taking the contract to 10 years.
