Platform supply vessels (PSVs) are in shorter supply in the North Sea after charterers booked ships for summer work in the Baltic Sea and Arctic.
Brokers reported Italian energy company Saipem chartered at least seven ships to provide support for its pipelay activities at the Baltic Pipe gas project between Norway and Poland.
The contracts went to Golden Energy Offshore for the 4,000-dwt Energy Duchess (built 2019) and Hoyland Offshore for the 4,300-dwt Sar Brage (built 1998).
