North Sea charterers are being stung by anchor-handling tug supply (AHTS) rates approaching $100,000 per day after the market sold out at the end of February.
Norwegian shipbroker Seabrokers said the month began very differently, with a very slow start in terms of spot deals.
Rates were depressed and utilisation levels weak, but “there was always an expectation that activity levels were likely to ramp up in the second half”, the company said.
