Martin Stopford, president of Clarksons Research, said shipping's business model of the past 30 years based on "gambling" had come to a dead end, which demanded the industry now embraces the revolution underway in data management.
Speaking at NorShipping's borderless business conference session he repeatedly clashed with Teekay Corp president Peter Evensen who argued that the changes foreseen by Stopford are already underway.
