Danish owner Norden has made good on its pledge to grow its products tanker fleet during a cyclical downturn in the market.

Chairman Klaus Nyborg told the company’s annual general meeting in Copenhagen today that it had signed long-term charters on two new medium range tankers for delivery in 2018.

The deal adds to the four MR newbuildings already on the company’s books at JMU and Onomichi Dockyard for delivery in the next 18 months.
