Kiltank Shipping of Sweden is making a shipowning comeback after a two-year absence.
Director Benjamin Fhager confirms that the company has bought the 7,700-dwt chemical tanker Besiktas Halland (built 2008) from the Turkish Besiktas group.
Fhager says the purchase is a new start for Kiltank after it sold a small bunker tanker in 2015.
Broking sources says the Turkish-built ship, which has ice class 1A, has been sold for $9m.
