Australia’s Port of Townsville could be exporting green hydrogen on tankers by the middle of this decade under an agreement signed on Wednesday.
The port in Queensland, north-eastern Australia, has signed a preliminary deal with Origin Energy to handle exports from a green hydrogen project.
Under the memorandum of understanding (MOU), the two companies agreed to collaborate on the potential expansion of the port, as well as the development of a liquefaction facility, new berth and associated infrastructure.
