Diamond S Shipping believes its recent sale of two suezmaxes is proof that the tanker market will turn up.
The Connecticut-based tanker owner sold the 150,000-dwt Aias and Amoureux (both built 2008) to Ridgebury Tankers for a total of $45m, TradeWinds reported in December last year. The ships were due for delivery after the new year.
In its fourth-quarter earnings report, Diamond S confirmed the ships were sold, with chief executive Craig Stevenson arguing that it shows there is value in the New York-listed company.
