A Romanian general cargoship has been banned from European ports after failing to carry out repairs following a water ingress incident in 2020.
The Paris Memorandum of Understanding on Port State Control (Paris MOU) said the 4,500-dwt Deniz S (built 1982) has been barred indefinitely.
However, the sanction appears pointless as the vessel has now headed to a shipbreaking facility in Turkey.
