Spot charter rates for LNG carriers are continuing their downward slide as gas prices soften worldwide and open tonnage starts to build in the east.
While some LNG shipowners are hopeful that the current sub-zero temperatures gripping northern Europe could lead a revival of demand, other market players said any activity will likely prove insufficient to turn around the decline in freight rates.
