The new head of the Nigerian Navy has echoed his predecessor's assertion that some of his personnel are involved in criminal behaviour.
Rear Admiral Awwal Zubairu Gambo pledged this week to root out "drug traffickers, kidnappers, armed robbers and other criminal elements" in his ranks, The Nation newspaper reported.
He said that under his leadership, the navy would sustain investment in research and development and foster partnerships with domestic and international partners.
