Capital expenditure (capex) savings of about 20% are achievable on new LNG bunker vessels (LNGBVs), according to Kanfer Shipping's Stig Hagen.
The founder and managing director — who has just signed a letter of intent (LOI) for Kanfer’s first two newbuildings — said one of the key factors is design simplification.
“The [designs of existing] LNG bunkering and distribution ships are gold-plated,” he told TradeWinds.
