Japan's NYK Line has realised its longstanding ambition of entering the LNG regasification sector with a deal in Papua New Guinea (PNG).
The shipowner will participate in design, development and engineering work for a floating LNG storage and regasification power generation facility (FSRP) planned for Lae, the capital of Morobe province.
NYK's partners are Chiyoda Corp of Japan and Moss Maritime of Norway, and the client is national oil company Kumul Petroleum Holdings.
