The only two Greek companies known to have ordered bulkers in 2020 inked them at the sole Japanese shipyard that had previously avoided customers from the country.
Safe Bulkers and Carras (Hellas) are understood to be the shipowners that signed at least three kamsarmax newbuildings at Oshima Shipbuilding late last year, breaking a 45-year hiatus of direct Greek orders at the yard.
