Container freight rates have skyrocketed but the situation should return to normal in mid-2021, according to consultancy firm AlixPartners.
Freight rates continue to break records, with the price of shipping a container from Asia to the Mediterranean surging to $5,594 per 40-foot equivalent unit (feu).
That is around triple the price of shipping container on the route a year ago, according to Freightos Baltic Index (FBX) estimates.
