AP Moller-Maersk is in the sights of an alleged patent troll — and more of the shipping industry could be next.
Transcend Shipping Systems filed a lawsuit against the Danish containership giant earlier this month, alleging the company infringed on its patents with the Captain Peter system that allows customers to track containers online.
Transcend is backed by New York area businessman and attorney Raymond Joao, who spent more than a decade suing financial firms over patents related to online banking.
