Spot rates for LNG carriers have strengthened across all ship types as charterers seek prompt vessels in market devoid of open units.
Brokers said spot charter rates for gas-injection, modern LNG carriers were up at $150,000 per day in the Atlantic basin with ships in the Pacific able to command daily rates of $130,000 plus.
