UK-based Lomar Shipping has acquired two high-specification 5,300-teu containerships from China’s Zhoushan Changhong International Shipyard in a deal worth $73m — as its buying spree continues unabated.
Industry players said Lomar is paying about $36.5m each for the IMO Tier II panamax boxships. One of the vessels, the Yangtze Shanghai, is already in service while the second ship is scheduled to roll out of the dry dock in July 2021.
