Lepta Shipping of Japan has mounted a significant expansion play, emerging as being behind an order for up to 10 boxship newbuildings at China's Yangzijiang Shipbuilding.
The shipowner is also said to have ordered a capesize bulker.
If all options are exercised, the moves represent major growth for Lepta Shipping's fleet.
