Caroline Yang’s urgent need for a job after graduating from law school began a 29-year career in shipping that led to her becoming chief executive of tanker company Hong Lam Marine and a leader in Singapore’s maritime community.
Claiming that she knew nothing about shipping when she made her entry into the industry in 1991, she described it as something that happened by chance.
