The Japanese Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) is proposing a series of tax breaks for shipbuilders.
The measures are aimed at encouraging investment, productivity improvements and consolidation.
The tax relief is being lined up as part of the upcoming 2021 national budget and will be applied from April next year.
