Authorities in Iceland have launched an investigation into whether European law was broken when two vessels previously owned by Eimskip were scrapped on beaches in India.
Public prosecutors in Iceland are responding to a documentary about the demolition, produced by Icelandic broadcaster Rikisutvarpio (RUV).
The Kveikur documentary shows two former Eimskip containerships being scrapped on the beach at Alang and alleges the demolition was done in breach of European regulations.
