European Union naval forces have boarded a tanker in the Mediterranean suspected of violating the UN arms embargo on Libya.
Operation EUNAVFOR MED Irini boarded the 13,102-dwt Royal Diamond 7 (built 2008) early on Thursday 150 km (93 miles) north of the Libyan city of Derna.
The vessel had reportedly departed from the port of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates and was heading to Benghazi in Libya.
