China's Zhejiang Satellite Petrochemical (STL) has signed a letter of intent with three shipyards to build up to eight very large ethane carrier newbuildings to be delivered in 2022.
The deal could be worth $880m if all options are exercised.
The acrylics producer forged the preliminary deal for the VLECs with China’s Jiangnan Shipyard and South Korea’s Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) and Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI).
