A kamsarmax sold by Italy’s d’Amico Dry Cargo last month has emerged in the fleet of Newport, a Greek company that started as a handysize player but has been steadily increasing its exposure to larger vessels since.
The 83,000-dwt Medi Lausanne (built 2006), which is now trading as Lausanne, changed hands for about $9.7m.
George Chatzis-led Newport is familiar with that type of vessel.
