John Fredriksen's SFL Corp is extending charters on seven containerships in a five-year deal with Mediterranean Shipping Co (MSC).
The deal involving a series of 4,100-teu vessels will add around $38m to the charter backlog of the New York-listed owner.
The traditional panamax containerships will remain on charter to MSC until 2025.
SFL does not name the ships, but seven vessels in SFL's fleet matching this description were acquired in 2014 from the German KG market.
