Nordic American Tankers is confident heading into the rest of the year after it beat expectations in the second quarter.
The Herbjorn Hansson-led suezmax specialist reported a $49.1m profit for the three months ending on 30 June — a significant reversal of the $15m loss for the same quarter last year — ahead of Monday's open in New York.
The performance was driven by its fleet of 23 crude tankers fetching an average time charter equivalent of $48,400 per day, pushing revenues up to $93.8m
