In the next 18 months, nearly 80 LNG carrier newbuildings are due to be delivered onto a Covid-19 uncertain market, as a swathe of steam turbine ships are due to be redelivered from 20-year charter contracts.
The deluge of old and new tonnage is prompting questions about whether these steam ships will continue to trade, be put to other use or be scrapped.
