Eastern Pacific Shipping has inked a letter of intent for five LNG-fuelled bulkers at New Times Shipbuilding against business with Australian mining giant BHP.
The Singapore-based outfit is said to have ordered the 208,000-dwt newcastlemaxes, but it is not known if any of the newbuildings are optional vessels.
Eastern Pacific declined to comment. A New Times executive played down the order, saying no contract had been signed.
