An LNG carrier has started moving eastbound through the Northern Sea Route (NSR) with a cargo on what is one of the earliest uses of this Arctic sea route.
Ship tracking data shows Sovcomflot (SCF Group)’s 172,600-cbm Christophe de Margerie (built 2017) left Yamal LNG’s Sabetta terminal with a cargo this week.
The LNG export project’s flagship Arc7 icebreaking vessel is due to arrive at Tangshan in China on 11 June.
