Net asset values of public tanker companies could finish 2020 about double where they are now, even accounting for a weakening of spot rates sometime in the third quarter.
That was the projection from Deutsche Bank and lead shipping analyst Amit Mehrotra, which hosted more than 200 people for an online tutorial on the tanker market Friday.
The registration for the DB event was a record and reflects the current escalation in investor interest in the white-hot tanker market, the analyst said.
