Up to 85 million tonnes of LNG production may need to be shut-in if demand falls as forecast as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, independent consultant Andy Flower said.
Speaking in a webinar arranged by conference organiser CWC Group entitled "Global LNG supply and demand: COVID-19 turning the volume down!", Flower said forecasts have put LNG demand for 2020 at between 340 million tonnes and 370 mt.
